Zune was a line of digital media products and services developed by Microsoft from November 2006 until its discontinuation in June 2012. During that time, the role of a UX motion designer was relatively new at Microsoft, which allowed me significant creative freedom to shape my contributions to the final product.
I collaborated with design prototypers to conceptualize the "now playing" experience, incorporating a vibrant mix of album art, artist imagery, typography, and colorful blending modes. I also played a role in enhancing the core software experience, including Zune Social and MixView, and helped define various touchscreen transitions for the Zune HD.
