As creative director of motion design at Tectonic, I worked with various teams at HBO to provide input on strategies that would help consolidate their motion language across multiple devices and platforms.
This following work is an exercise in minimalism where we took HBO’s existing design and reduced the animation to two simple easing curves. This limited motion palette was meant to be an elegant solution that could easily be scaled across mobile, tablet, and desktop experiences. This work was presented at a VP level and helped inspire and inform the future direction of motion design at HBO.
In addition to motion guidelines, Tectonic worked with HBO on a series of explorations that revolved around future vision and strategies to enhance their existing viewing experience. This work was engagement driven and designed to be immersive, interactive, and fun.
